Chowgirls catering: http://www.chowgirls.net/index.html
They were catering at opening at Art of This and had the most amazing spanakopita. If I was ever to need something catered, like a small wedding, this would be where I would go, no questions asked.
Blacklist Vintage: http://www.blacklistvintage.com/
A newer vintage boutique, my friend Carly once had an amazing discussion with one of the ladies who opened it about how different of a world it would be if we didn’t have to work crap jobs just for the health insurance. We would all follow our dreams! THAT is what I am talking about!
Cake Eater Bakery: http://www.cakeeaterbakery.com/
Just opened up in Seward, these ladies made delicious complimentary cupcakes for the Modern Radio record label anniversary show at the Cedar Cultural Center. And I know my cupcakes!
Everyday People: http://www.everydaypeopleclothing.com/
Liza, one of the owners, is wonderful (I don’t know her sister but I bet she is also great). These two moved to Minneapolis from somewhere like Kansas and made it happen all on their own! Great place to get decent used clothes, both modern and vintage, as well as to get some cash (or trade in) for your old treasures. Now in three locations: Uptown, Dinkytown and St. Paul.
I like you: http://www.ilikeyouonline.com/
A cute shop with gift-type goods, household supplies, some art, jewelry and clothing that is 90 % LOCAL. The remaining 10% of there goods are supplied by independent artists and crafters, so this is definitely a shop that knows how to support local, independent artists.
Rewind Vintage: http://www.rewindminneapolis.com/
This little shop is busting at the seams with vintage goods.
